Welcome to HelperGen
HelperGen is a marketplace for skilled service providers. You set your own rates, choose the jobs you want, and get paid directly and securely through Stripe. There are no subscription fees — HelperGen charges a commission of 18% on completed jobs (reduced to 15% if you earn the Gold Helper badge). You start with 75 Gen Points as a welcome bonus.
What You Can Do as a Service Provider
As a provider you can:
- List your services with custom rates and descriptions
- Browse and apply for jobs that match your skills
- Receive AI-powered job matches tailored to your profile
- Get invited directly by job posters who find your profile
- Track your earnings and manage payout preferences
- Earn badges (Silver, Gold) by maintaining high ratings and completing jobs
- Get verified with identity and background checks to build trust
- Use Gen Ultra AI assistant to craft winning application messages
Step 1: Complete Your Profile
Your profile is your storefront. A complete, professional profile gets significantly more job invitations. To complete your profile:
- Go to Profile in the navigation menu
- Add a professional photo (clear headshot, well-lit)
- Write a compelling bio describing your experience and specialties
- Set your availability (days and hours you work)
- Add your service area (city/neighbourhood you serve)
Then go to Services and add each service you offer with a rate and description. Profiles with at least 3 services receive 40% more applications.
Step 2: Set Up Stripe Connect
To receive payments you must connect a Stripe account. This is how HelperGen pays you after each completed job:
- Go to Profile → Payment Settings or Earnings
- Click Connect with Stripe
- You will be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding — follow the steps to provide your banking details
- Return to HelperGen once Stripe confirms your account
Payouts are processed automatically after a job is marked complete. The payout typically arrives in your bank account within 2–5 business days. You cannot receive payments until your Stripe account is fully verified.
Step 3: List Your Services
Adding clear, detailed services improves your visibility in job matching:
- Navigate to Profile → Services
- Click Add Service
- Select a service category (Cleaning, Handyman, Caregiving, etc.) and subcategory
- Write a description of what you offer
- Set your hourly rate (minimum $15/hour platform-wide)
- Upload any relevant qualification documents (certifications, licences)
- Click Save
You can add multiple services. Each service can have its own rate and description.
Step 4: Apply for Jobs
Once your profile is set up:
- Go to Available Jobs in the navigation
- Browse job listings — use filters for service type, location, and rate
- Click a job to read the full details
- Click Apply and fill in your proposed rate, start date, estimated hours, and a cover message
- Submit your application — the job poster will review it and may message you
You can also check Job Matches for AI-curated jobs that fit your profile, and view Invitations from job posters who contacted you directly.
Building Your Reputation
Your reputation on HelperGen grows with every completed job:
- Ratings: Job posters rate you 1–5 stars after each job. Aim for 4.5+ to stand out.
- Badges: Earn Silver Helper and Gold Helper badges by maintaining high ratings, low cancellation rates, and completing many jobs. Gold Helper reduces your commission from 18% to 15%.
- Verification: Complete identity verification (Stripe Identity) and a background check (Certn) to display trust badges on your profile.
- Reviews: Respond to reviews professionally — potential clients read them carefully.
- Gen Ultra: Use the AI assistant to craft tailored application messages that increase your acceptance rate.
