Your Payment History
The Payment History page shows every payment you have received through HelperGen. Entries appear in reverse chronological order and include the job title, job poster, gross amount, commission deducted, net payout, applicable taxes, and payment status. Use this page as your primary reference for reconciling your HelperGen income.
Understanding Payment Status
Your payments progress through these statuses:
- Pending: Job is complete but the job poster has not yet authorized payment
- Authorized: Job poster approved payment; Stripe is processing
- Processing: Stripe has accepted the payment and is transferring funds
- Paid: Funds have been deposited to your Stripe Connect account
- On Hold: Payment is under review due to a dispute
- Refunded: Funds were returned to the job poster (partial or full)
Payout Schedule
Once a payment is Authorized, Stripe processes the transfer according to your Stripe Connect payout schedule:
- Standard: 2 business days after payment is captured
- Manual payouts: If you have set up manual payouts in Stripe, you initiate transfers yourself
Payouts go to the bank account you connected during Stripe onboarding. To change your bank account, log into your Stripe Connect dashboard directly (linked from your HelperGen profile under Payment Settings).
Viewing Earning Details
Click any payment entry to see the full breakdown:
- Gross amount: Total the job poster paid
- HelperGen commission: 18% standard (15% if Gold Helper badge)
- Net amount: What you receive after commission
- Taxes charged: Any GST/PST/HST/QST you collected (shown separately)
- Net deposit: The actual amount deposited to your bank
The detailed view also shows the transaction ID, job unique ID, and the exact timestamp of each payment event.
Downloading Records
To download your payment records:
- Individual receipt: Open any payment → click Download Receipt (PDF)
- Earnings export: Go to Earnings → Export CSV to download all payments in a spreadsheet format for your preferred date range
The CSV export includes all columns (gross, commission, net, taxes, date, job ID) and is suitable for importing into accounting software.
Tax Documents
HelperGen tracks the taxes you collect on each job (based on your tax settings). To configure your tax profile:
- Go to Profile → Tax Settings
- Enter your applicable tax registration numbers (GST/HST number, QST number, etc.)
- Enable the taxes you collect (GST, PST, HST, or QST)
Tax amounts are shown separately in each payment detail and in the CSV export. HelperGen does not file your taxes — you are responsible for remitting collected taxes to the appropriate authorities. Consult a tax professional for guidance on your obligations as a self-employed service provider.
