The Two Sides of HelperGen
HelperGen is a two-sided marketplace. Job posters create jobs and pay for services. Service providers apply for jobs, complete the work, and get paid. Both sides benefit from the platform's verification system, secure payments, and review infrastructure. Admins manage platform health, moderate disputes, and maintain quality standards.
The Job Lifecycle
Every job on HelperGen follows a clear lifecycle:
- Draft — Job poster creates a job (AI or manual)
- Active — Job is published and visible to providers
- Application received — Providers apply with bids
- Accepted — Job poster hires a provider
- In Progress — Provider is on-site completing the work
- Completed — Both parties confirm completion
- Paid — Payment is processed and released to provider
At each stage, both parties receive notifications and can communicate through the platform's messaging system.
Payments and Trust
All payments on HelperGen flow through Stripe — the same payment infrastructure used by millions of businesses worldwide. Job posters pay by credit card. Providers receive funds directly to their bank account via Stripe Connect.
HelperGen charges a 18% commission on provider earnings (15% for Gold Helper badge holders). Job posters are only charged after they authorize payment — never automatically without consent. The platform supports auto-authorization for repeat, trusted providers.
Gen Points Explained
Gen Points are HelperGen's credit system. Job posters use them to publish jobs (free to 100 points depending on job budget). Gen Points can be purchased in bundles — the smallest bundle is 45 Gen Points for $4.99, with larger bundles offering better value per point. Welcome bonuses: 75 Gen Points for providers and 75–100 Gen Points for job posters upon registration. Job posters also earn back 5 Gen Points each time a job is completed.
Verification and Badges
HelperGen offers multiple layers of provider verification:
- Identity Verification (Stripe Identity): Confirms the provider's government-issued ID
- Background Checks (Certn): Criminal record and other checks
- Badges: Silver and Gold Helper badges are awarded based on ratings, completion rates, and tenure on the platform — Gold Helper reduces commission to 15%
Verified providers display trust badges on their profile, which increases job poster confidence and application acceptance rates.
