Some job posters keep their jobs private. A private job does not appear in Find Jobs, job matching, Gen Ultra, or new-job alerts for other providers. Providers invited or notified by the job poster, and eligible applicants carried over from a public job, can access it. Declined applicants can view their status but cannot apply again. If you are invited, the job shows in your Find Jobs, job matches and Gen Ultra, marked Private.
Why You Received a Private Job Invitation
You can receive a private job invitation when:
- The job poster invited you directly (for example from your profile, a past job, or your invitation code)
- The job poster asked HelperGen to notify providers in the job's categories, and you offer one of those categories within 100 km of the job. HelperGen notifies up to 30 providers, ranked by rating and distance
Private invitations show a Private invitation badge. Open the job from the notification or email to view it and apply as usual.
Why Some Jobs Are Not in Find Jobs
Private jobs appear in your Available Jobs, Bookmarks, Smart Matches and Gen Ultra results only if you have access, marked Private. They never appear in new-job alerts. Declined applicants keep access to their application status but are excluded from discovery lists and cannot apply again. If you open a private job link without an invitation, you will see that it is not available.
Your access to a private job stays in place while the job is open, even after the invitation expires. If you withdraw your application, you keep access only if you still offer one of the job's categories within 100 km. If the job poster declines your application, you can still see its status but cannot apply again. To control these invitations, use Smart Invitations in your notification settings.
