Dashboard Overview
Your provider dashboard gives you a real-time snapshot of your HelperGen activity. At a glance you can see upcoming jobs, new opportunities, your recent earnings, and your reputation standing. The dashboard refreshes automatically — check it each morning to plan your day.
Action Needed
The Action Needed section highlights jobs that require your immediate attention. Items appear here when:
- New message: The job poster has sent you a message that you have not read yet
- Today's job: You have a job scheduled for today — click the card to get directions and start work
- Complete job: The job is done but you have not yet confirmed completion or generated a Quick Pay Code
- Response required: A mutual cancellation request is waiting for your reply
- Dispute active: An open dispute on one of your jobs needs attention
Address Action Needed items promptly — job posters notice when providers respond quickly, which positively impacts your rating. Cards are colour-coded by urgency (red for disputes, amber for today and completions, indigo for messages).
Today's Jobs and Schedule
The Upcoming Work section shows every accepted job on your schedule — today, this week, and beyond — sorted by date and start time. Switch between List View (default, job-by-job breakdown) and Calendar View (monthly calendar with job dots) using the toggle in the top-right corner of the section.
List View and Calendar View
Use the List View / Calendar View toggle in the top-right corner of the Upcoming Work section to switch how your schedule is displayed.
List View (default) shows your jobs as individual cards ordered by date and start time. Each card shows the job title, client name, address, distance, scheduled date/time, and all active status badges at a glance. This is the best view for acting on jobs — you can see full details and take actions (generate Quick Pay Code, mark complete) without leaving the dashboard.
Calendar View shows your jobs plotted on a full calendar grid. It has three sub-views you can switch between using the Day / Week / Month buttons:
- Day: Shows a single day's schedule hour by hour — useful when you have multiple jobs on the same day
- Week: Shows a Sun–Sat week grid (the default calendar sub-view). Navigate between weeks using the ‹ and › arrows, or jump to a specific date using the date picker field
- Month: Shows a full month overview with job indicators on each day — useful for planning ahead and spotting busy periods
Subscribe button: Click the calendar icon labelled Subscribe to get a personal calendar feed URL. Add this URL to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook to see your HelperGen schedule alongside your other commitments. The feed updates automatically as new jobs are accepted or cancelled — you do not need to re-subscribe when your schedule changes.
Job Card Status Badges
Each job card displays one or two coloured status badges that tell you exactly where things stand:
- Scheduled (green): The job is confirmed and coming up. Arrive on time.
- In Progress (blue): You have already started this job.
- Needs Completion (amber): The job day has passed but completion has not been confirmed yet. Generate a Quick Pay Code or mark the job complete.
- Payment Authorization Pending (orange): The job is done and the job poster needs to authorize your payment. If they do not act within 48 hours, payment releases automatically.
- Awaiting Payment (yellow): Payment has been authorized and is being processed by Stripe — funds are on their way to your bank account.
- Disputed (red): An active dispute is open on this job. Check the dispute details immediately.
- Cancelled (grey): The job was cancelled — either mutually or by the job poster.
Quick Pay Code Required Banner
When you see a Quick Pay Code Required banner at the top of the Upcoming Work section, it means one or more of your jobs require you to generate a code at completion.
The Quick Pay Code is a 4-digit code provided to you by the job poster when you finish. You enter it in the Mark as Completed dialog to confirm the job is done and trigger your payment — no separate steps needed.
To complete a job using the Quick Pay Code:
- Ask the job poster for their 4-digit Quick Pay Code
- Tap Mark as Completed on the job card
- Confirm your Hours Worked (max: 3× estimated hours)
- Review the Payment Calculation (rate × hours + taxes)
- Enter the 4-digit code and tap Complete Job — this action cannot be undone
No Show Timer
The No Show button appears on a job card when the job is scheduled for a future date. The timer (e.g., starts in 2h 15m) counts down to the job start time.
If a job poster believes you did not show up, they can file a No Show report after the scheduled start time has passed. You will receive a notification and have 48 hours to contest it. Contesting a no-show opens a dispute process where you can provide evidence (messages, location data, photos).
To avoid no-show reports: arrive on time, and update the job status to In Progress as soon as you begin work — this timestamps your arrival.
Map and Location
Each job card in Upcoming Work displays the job address and your distance from the location. An embedded map shows the job site on a street map. Tap Open in Maps to launch your device's navigation app (Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze) with the address pre-filled for turn-by-turn directions.
Your exact distance is calculated from your current GPS location, so it updates as you travel. The address is only shown after you have been hired — before that, only the general neighbourhood is visible.
Payment Authorization Pending
When a job shows Payment Authorization Pending, it means the job has been marked complete but the job poster has not yet approved the payment release. This is normal — job posters have up to 48 hours to authorize.
You do not need to take any action during this period. If the job poster does not authorize within 48 hours, the platform automatically releases your payment. The money will arrive in your Stripe bank account within 2–5 business days after authorization.
If you are concerned about a delayed payment, you can message the job poster through the job detail page as a gentle reminder.
Job Card Action Buttons
Each expanded job card in Upcoming Work shows up to five action buttons along the bottom. Here is what each one does:
View Job Opens the full job detail page for that booking. From there you can see the complete job description, client details, the full message history, and the activity timeline. Use this button to review all the job information before heading to the worksite.
Message Client Opens a direct message thread with the job poster. Use this to confirm your arrival time, ask questions about the job scope, or send a heads-up if you are running late. All messages are stored on HelperGen and may be reviewed if a dispute is ever raised, so always communicate through this channel rather than outside the platform.
View Agreement Opens the Service Agreement Confirmation — the contract between you and the job poster. It shows:
- Job Title and Job Unique ID for reference
- Status: Accepted (green) once both parties have agreed
- Payment Details: Rate type (Fixed Price or Hourly Rate), your proposed rate in CAD, applicable tax options (GST 5%, PST 7%, or HST 13% with your business registration numbers), estimated hours, and the estimated total
- Gen Points Reservation: Confirms how many Gen Points are required for this job based on the job total. Gen Points are reserved when you apply and permanently deducted (non-refundable) only after both parties have agreed to the contract
Review the agreement before each job to confirm the payment terms, rate, and tax details are correct.
Cancel Job Cancels your accepted booking and removes the job from your schedule. You will be asked to select a cancellation reason before confirming. Use this only as a last resort. Cancelling an accepted job negatively impacts your cancellation rate, which affects your badge status, your position in search results, and your eligibility for future jobs. If you must cancel, message the client first and give as much notice as possible.
Mark as Completed Starts the job completion flow. Tapping this button opens the Enter Quick Pay Code dialog:
- Confirm Hours Worked — enter the actual time spent on the job. The maximum you can enter is 3× the estimated hours agreed in the contract (e.g., if the estimate was 2 hours, the maximum billable hours is 6)
- Review Payment Calculation — the dialog shows your rate × hours + applicable taxes = total amount the client will be charged
- Enter the 4-digit Quick Pay Code — ask the job poster for this code. They generate it from their app and share it with you at the end of the job
- Tap Complete Job — this confirms the job is done, triggers payment processing, and permanently closes the booking. This action cannot be undone.
If the job poster is unavailable or cannot provide the code, tap "Can't get the code? Click here for other options" inside the dialog to access alternative completion methods — such as requesting the code via SMS to the client or flagging the situation to HelperGen support for review.
Pending Applications
Pending Applications shows all the jobs you have applied to that are still awaiting the job poster's decision. You can see:
- The job title and service type
- Your proposed rate and start date
- How long ago you applied
- Whether the job poster has viewed your application
If a job poster accepts your application, you will receive a notification and the job moves to your Active Jobs list. You can withdraw a pending application at any time from this section.
Opportunities
The Opportunities section is your hub for finding and tracking work. It has three tabs:
Recommended — AI-curated jobs that closely match your profile, services, location, and availability. Each card shows a match score (0–100%) so you can quickly see which jobs are the strongest fit. Higher scores mean your qualifications, rates, and service area align well with what the job poster needs. Apply directly from a card without leaving the dashboard.
Invitations — Jobs where the job poster specifically requested you. Invitations come from posters who found your profile and chose to reach out. These are high-value opportunities — the poster already likes your profile, so your acceptance rate on invitations is typically much higher than on open applications. Review and respond to invitations promptly.
Applications — All jobs you have applied to that are still awaiting the job poster's decision. You can see whether the poster has viewed your application, how long ago you applied, and your proposed rate. If your plans change, you can withdraw a pending application from this tab at any time with no penalty.
Job Matches
Job Matches shows AI-curated job listings that closely match your profile, services, location, and availability. Each match includes a match score (0–100%) indicating how well the job fits you. Higher scores mean your qualifications, service area, and rates are a strong fit. Review your matches daily — well-matched jobs tend to get more competition quickly. Click Apply on any match to submit an application directly from the dashboard.
Earnings Summary
The Earnings Summary widget shows your income at a glance:
- This month: Total earnings for the current calendar month
- Pending: Jobs completed but payment not yet processed
- Lifetime: Your total earnings on HelperGen
HelperGen deducts an 18% commission from each payment (15% if you hold the Gold Helper badge). Click View Earnings for a full breakdown, tax summary, and CSV export.
Your Badges
Your current badge status is displayed on the dashboard. Badges reflect your standing in the HelperGen community:
- No badge: Starting out — build your reputation with your first few jobs
- Silver Helper: Awarded after meeting initial rating and completion thresholds
- Gold Helper: The top tier — reduces your commission to 15% and increases your visibility in job searches
