What Are Gen Points?
Gen Points are HelperGen's platform currency, used by both job posters and service providers. For job posters, posting public jobs and using Gen are free; Gen Points are only for optional features such as Private Jobs, when available. For service providers, Gen Points are used to access premium profile features (custom handle, portfolio showcase, invitation widget, video introduction) and to apply for jobs. Gen Points are purchased with real money at $0.06 per point and never expire.
How to Earn Gen Points
You can receive Gen Points through:
- Welcome bonus: free Gen Points when you first join (the amount depends on your account type and current promotions)
- Job completion rewards (job posters only): 5 Gen Points credited to your account each time a job you posted is completed
- Referral program: Earn Gen Points by referring new users — amounts depend on current promotion terms
- Purchased bundles: Purchase preset bundles from 90 to 2,400 Gen Points — larger bundles offer better value per point
How Gen Points Are Spent
Gen Points are deducted for:
Job posters:
- Nothing is required: posting public jobs and using Gen are free. Private Jobs, when available, charge the displayed fee on publication or when switching from public to private; invitations are included and points are not refunded.
Providers:
- Job applications: reserved when you apply and deducted once the agreement is signed (based on the job total)
- Custom Handle: 20 points (one-time)
- Invitation Widget: 100 points/month
- Portfolio Showcase: 75 points/month
- Video Introduction: 60 points/month
Purchasing Gen Points
To buy Gen Points:
- Go to Gen Points → Buy Bundles
- Choose a preset bundle (Starter 90 pts, Value 200 pts, Growth 550 pts, or Power 2,400 pts)
- Pay with Visa, Mastercard, or Amex through Stripe
- Points are credited instantly
There are no subscription fees — you only buy Gen Points when you need them. Larger bundles offer a better per-point rate.

Gen Ultra is HelperGen's AI job search assistant for service providers. Ask it in plain language, by text or voice, to find jobs that match your skills, location, and schedule. Gen Ultra is free to use with a daily conversation limit that resets each day. Gen Ultra is exclusively available to service providers.
