What Are Gen Points?
Gen Points are HelperGen's platform currency, used by both job posters and service providers. For job posters, Gen Points are spent to publish jobs. For service providers, Gen Points are used to access premium profile features (custom handle, portfolio showcase, invitation widget, Gen Ultra). Gen Points are purchased with real money at $0.12 per point and never expire.
How to Earn Gen Points
You can receive Gen Points through:
- Welcome bonus: 75–100 Gen Points for job posters, 75 Gen Points for providers when you first join
- Job completion rewards (job posters only): 5 Gen Points credited to your account each time a job you posted is completed
- Referral program: Earn Gen Points by referring new users — amounts depend on current promotion terms
- Purchased bundles: Purchase preset bundles from 45 to 1,200 Gen Points — larger bundles offer better value per point
How Gen Points Are Spent
Gen Points are deducted for:
Job posters:
- Publishing a job (0–100 points depending on budget tier)
Providers:
- Custom Handle: 150 points (one-time)
- Invitation Widget: 100 points/month
- Portfolio Showcase: 75 points/month
- Video Introduction: 60 points/month
- Gen Ultra AI credits: Bundled purchases for AI-assisted application messaging
Job Posting Cost Tiers
Publishing a job costs Gen Points based on your maximum budget:

Choosing a lower maximum budget costs fewer Gen Points. If your job budget range is flexible, consider setting a maximum just below a tier threshold to save points. You earn back 5 Gen Points when each job is completed.
Purchasing Gen Points
To buy Gen Points:
- Go to Gen Points → Buy Bundles
- Choose a preset bundle (Starter 45 pts, Value 100 pts, Growth 275 pts, or Power 1,200 pts)
- Pay with Visa, Mastercard, or Amex through Stripe
- Points are credited instantly
There are no subscription fees — you only buy Gen Points when you need them. Larger bundles offer a better per-point rate.
Gen Ultra Credits
Gen Ultra is HelperGen's AI assistant for service providers. It helps craft personalized application messages based on the job description — increasing acceptance rates. Gen Ultra usage is measured in credits:
- Text messages: Up to 20 per minute (bundled credits)
- Voice messages: Up to 8 per minute (bundled credits)
Providers receive a limited number of free Gen Ultra uses upon registration. Additional credits can be purchased as a Gen Points bundle. Gen Ultra is exclusively available to service providers.
