Your Business Profile Explained
The Business Profile is an extended version of your provider profile designed for providers who operate as a business rather than just an individual. It lets you add a business name, a branded public URL, showcase your work through photos, and accept job invitations directly through your public page. These premium features help you market your services beyond the HelperGen platform.
Business Name and Description
To set up your business identity:
- Go to Profile → Business Profile
- Enter your business name (displayed on your public profile alongside your personal name)
- Write a business description — this can be more formal than your personal bio and can include your company history, team size, service area, and business values
- Click Save
If you operate as a sole proprietor under your own name, you can leave the business name blank and use only your personal profile.
Custom Profile Handle
A custom handle gives your public profile a memorable, branded URL:
- Default URL:
helpergen.ca/providers/abc12345(random ID) - Custom URL:
helpergen.ca/providers/jane-cleaning-services
Cost: 150 Gen Points (one-time, non-refundable) Requirements: 3–50 characters, letters/numbers/hyphens only, must be unique
To reserve a handle:
- Go to Business Profile → Custom Handle
- Enter your desired handle and click Check Availability
- If available, click Reserve Handle to deduct 150 Gen Points and activate it
Your handle is permanent once reserved — choose carefully.
QR Code for Your Business
Once you have a custom handle, HelperGen generates a QR code that links directly to your public profile:
- Go to Business Profile → QR Code
- Preview your QR code
- Click Download to save in PNG or SVG format
Use your QR code on business cards, flyers, vehicle decals, or uniforms. When a potential client scans it, they land directly on your HelperGen profile where they can review your services and send you a job invitation.
Portfolio Showcase
The Portfolio Showcase lets you display before-and-after photos and examples of your work on your public profile:
Cost: 75 Gen Points per month Maximum photos: 20 images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, max 5 MB each)
To add portfolio photos:
- Go to Business Profile → Portfolio
- Click Subscribe to Portfolio Showcase (75 Gen Points/month billed monthly)
- Upload photos with optional captions
- Photos appear in a gallery on your public profile
Portfolio photos are particularly effective for cleaning, handyman, landscaping, and renovation services where visual proof of quality matters.
Invitation Widget
The Invitation Widget adds a "Send Job Invitation" button to your public profile page, allowing potential clients who find your profile to send you a job invitation without searching for jobs first:
Cost: 100 Gen Points per month Maximum invitations per client per day: 10
To enable:
- Go to Business Profile → Invitation Widget
- Click Enable Invitation Widget (100 Gen Points/month)
- Customize your invitation settings (require authentication, expiry days)
- The widget appears on your public profile immediately
Invitations you receive appear in your Invitations inbox with full job details, so you can accept or decline at your convenience.
Video Introduction
The Video Introduction lets you record or upload a short video that appears at the top of your public profile — a powerful way to introduce yourself and make a personal first impression:
Cost: 60 Gen Points per month Maximum length: 90 seconds Supported formats: MP4, MOV, WebM (max 200 MB)
To add a video introduction:
- Go to Business Profile → Video Introduction
- Click Subscribe to Video Introduction (60 Gen Points/month)
- Record directly in the app (web camera or mobile camera) or upload a pre-recorded file
- Add an optional caption (e.g., "Hi! I'm Jane — Ottawa's trusted deep-cleaning specialist")
- Click Save — the video appears on your public profile within a few minutes
Job posters who watch your video are significantly more likely to hire you. Keep it short, professional, and friendly. Show your work environment or tools to build confidence.
